Bio
Patrick Clark is a professional violinist and fiddler who also specializes as a multi-instrumentalist based in Phoenix, Arizona. He earned his degree in Violin Performance from Northern Arizona University in 2006 where he also studied Suzuki Pedagogy. He carries certifications through Suzuki Book 4. Patrick is the Director of Orchestras at BASIS Phoenix. BASIS Phoenix is currently ranked as, “The most challenging high school in the United States,” according to the Washington Post. In addition to teaching at BASIS, Patrick holds a small private studio of violin and fiddling students, and performs locally as a freelance violinist and fiddler.
Patrick is a published author with Hal Leonard, penning two titles; “Fiddling, The Basics and Beyond,” and “Violin Fast Track.” In addition to his books, Patrick is a national clinician for Eastman Music Company and has presented clinics at the Utah Music Educators Association, Ohio Music Educators Association, and American String Teacher’s Association conferences. He also coached “Sugar and The Mint,” a youth bluegrass band, to a first place overall win at the Telluride Bluegrass Band Competition in Telluride, Colorado in June 2017.
Patrick spent four years in Las Vegas, Nevada as strings faculty at Nevada School of The Arts where he carried a studio that averaged 30 students per week. He also started two different, and very successful elementary violin programs for Rainbow Dreams Academy and Doral Academy of Nevada. During his time there, he performed as a substitute violinist with the Las Vegas Philharmonic and for Showstoppers at the Wynn Hotel. He also performed as the violin chair for “The Newsies,” at The Smith Center, when the musical came through.
Prior to teaching full time, Patrick lived in Nashville, TN where he landed multiple high profile positions with artists like Darius Rucker, whom he spent three and a half years touring with, Big and Rich, Sara Evans, Lee Brice, Hunter Hayes, Roy Clark, Mark Chesnutt, Mark Wills, Shannon Brown, Pam Tillis, Crystal Gayle, Brenda Lee, James Otto, Chuck Wicks, Collin Raye and many more. He was also adjunct faculty at Tennessee State University and performed as a substitute violinist with Tuscaloosa Symphony, in Alabama.
While on tour Patrick also performed on the following television shows; The Oprah Winfrey Show, David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Ellen, The Today Show, Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, The Jimmy Kimmell Show, Jimmy Fallon, Wendy Williams, Bonnie Hunt, The View, Dancing With The Stars, The ACM Awards, The CMA Awards, The CMT Awards, and The Billboard Music Awards.
